Julie feels the same, but tries to suppress her desire. For her part as Mlle. Julie, Edwige Feuillère was nominated for a BAFTA award for Best Foreign Actress in 1952. French director Audry made 18 feature films from 1944 to 1972. Her earliest films are prime examples of the French 'tradition of quality.' She favored plots adapted from French literature. Audry is most distinguished from her peers in that her films were primarily focused upon female leads, whereas traditional French cinema is centered around the lives of men. Her most notorious film was 1951's Olivia, which dealt with lesbian relationships.

豆瓣电影影评：我其实是想给奥莉维娅4颗星的，但是稍微回味了一会儿，觉得它不值，还是三星半吧。其实，我一向对法国电影非常宽容，甚至可以大言不惭的说，在国内和国际制作水平差距极大的情况下，我就是“双标”——都不在一个起跑线上，根本没法比呀。所以经常出现国外影片堪堪尚可，我却只给三星及格，法国电影只是稍微拍出了一点点好看，我就会给三星及以上，如果演员演技爆炸或者剧本极佳，我也不会吝啬我的5星，但是如果按照给国外影片打分的标准，这些法国电影可能通通都只能有三四颗星以下。
